Russia. Wheat inventories up 11% year-on-year

ccording to Russia’s State Statistics Service, growing, storage and processing companies held a total 31.86 MMT of grain as of August 1, 2017, or twice as much as on July 1, but 0.7% less than on August 1, 2016, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Wheat stocks at procuring and processing entities are 11.3% higher than last year: 10.4 MMT, including 7.42 MMT of milling wheat (up 13.4% year-on-year).

Barley inventories increased 15.2% to 1.14 MMT, while those of corn gained 54.8% and reached 72 KMT, buckwheat stocks grew 2.1 times to 42 KMT, millet stocks tripled to 24 KMT and oat stocks were up 30% at 64 KMT.

Rye inventories shrank by 12% to 329 KMT by early August, while those of rice were down 54.8% year-on-year at 19 KMT
